RI-INL-R9QM: What software/hardware do I need to write to this RFID

Looking for an independent system that can write to this RFID and also to RI-INL-R9QM-30.  

We would like to use a public key encryption to write/read to the memory the date the tag was created, first seen and when pulled from inventory.

    Unfortunately, those tags are read only transponders. You won't be able to write to them.

    Is there a specific reason you want to use LF RFID rather than HF RFID for your application? We do have HF RFID offerings which would allow for such an application in our Tag-It transponder line.

    No we can us a HF RFID if that will allow us to read write.  We were using the RI-INL-W9QM part but it is being discontinued.

    Let me check with the product marketing to verify if there are no replacements for RI-INL-W9QM with existing users first, and then if not we can discuss what HF options may make sense for your system.

    There isn't any replacement for the RI-INL-W9QM. As mentioned before the RI-TRP-DR2B does offer write capability. Depending on the expected size of your application though, it may be possible to use the RI-INL-W9QM as there is still stock, it's just on LIFEBUY status as when stock runs out then there will be no more. So for low volumes it could be viable if you really don't want to change technologies, though obviously carries risk.

    As far as HF RFID goes, typically an application which involves basic encryption like hashes and the storage of time data would fit will with ISO15693 tags. For example, the TI Tag-It HF-I Plus tag has 256 Bytes of space for storage of data. The tags are organized into 'blocks' of 4 bytes per block, and each tag comes with an 8 byte UID permanently programmed (some hashes even use that UID as part of the algorithm).
