Hi,

I am trying to write a proprietary radio protocol for the cc2650. I have seen that there is 5-Mbps coded 8-FSK mode in the CMD_RADIO_SETUP in the technical reference manual (23.3.3.1.2).

I wonder if I can use this mode for my project, What does this mode do exactly (which bandwidth setting does it uses)? Is there documentation about it?

Hello Thom,

Yes, 5MBPS datarate mode can be implemented on CC2650 but this has not been released yet. It is implemented as 8FSK modulation with 1050KHz deviation. The occupied bandwidth is 3.8MHz. This mode also has a different set of APIs similar to the 4MBPS mode on CC13xx family of devices. Please note that the sensitivity and hence the range decreases with higher data rates.

Hi,

it is the 9th of September now. We would like to try a CC2650DK and test the proprietay mode with maximum data rate.

Is the propritary mode implemented in the CC2650DK now?

Hello Walter,

The performance data at 5mbps data rate has been added to the datasheet but we have not yet published an example for CC26xx at 5mbps. As mentioned in the previous post, the implementation is very similar to the 4mbps datarate on CC13xx which is already part of packet error rate example in TI RTOS release. The patches and few settings are different on CC26xx . Until we release an example, you can send me a friend request and I will share the settings with you. In the release planned mid next, example for proprietary mode on CC26xx will be included but this does not include 5mbps datarate.

Hi SVS,

I'm working on a project that requires latency ( under 1 ms ), low jitter ( lower than 10us ) and high data rate. I think the CC2650 at 5Mbps be a good solution.

Can I get access to this configurations?

I think I have received it. It is that I have rendered the responsibility of the CC2650 FW to my colleague who now is in charge of that.
