Hi!

I am trying to use the proprietary radio protocol (max. 5 MBit/s) on a CC2650. However I can not find any examples for this type. Can you give me any hint on how to get this functionality working?

The latest TI-RTOS for cc13xx and cc26xx include RF examples for CC26xx proprietary, www.ti.com/.../ti-rtos-mcu

However it still seems that there are no examples regarding the proprietary RF protocol for CC2650. Can this mode be tested as well?

TI-RTOS for CC13xx and CC26xx SDK 2.21 adds proprietary examples for CC26xx.

CCS cloud is still using 2.20, so the examples are not included there yet. CCS Cloud will be updated.

As far as I can see, there are no RF patches for the High Speed mode of CC2650 included (under \tirtos_cc13xx_cc26xx_2_21_00_06\products\cc26xxware_2_24_03_17272\rf_patches). Are they not necessary for the high-speed mode?

Hello Niklaus,

For 5mbps data rate on CC26xx, specific patches are needed and they have not been released yet. The implementation of this mode is similar to 4mbps datarate mode on CC13xx and we have an example on TI RTOS (packet error rate test) that implements this mode on CC13xx. As Bernd mentioned, if your application can run at 2mbps data rate, please consider using that mode instead since the range is better at 2mbps. If you are in a rush to try out 5mbps mode, please contact your local TI representative (preferred) or send me a friend request on e2e.

I am also working on implementing the 5 mbps propritary mode on the CC2650 (we need more than 2 mbpsfor our application at very short range, so the 5 mbps mode fits perfectly). I already have the CC1350 4 mbps example working, but would really appreciate it if you could please send me the patch for the CC2650 as well as the register changes i.e. for the frequency, LO dirver and RF module etc.

I still have not received any response regarding my request for the RF patches for CC2650. When can I expect an answer? I really need the patches since using Bluetooth is currently no option.
