CC2510: Reset Bits After Unexpected Reset

Part Number: CC2510

Hi,

I am working with a customer who is experiencing strange behavior at just one of their thousands of product locations. They are seeing CC2510s in the system randomly reset and have no idea why:

When we look at the reset cause bits we see what appears to be random values of 00, 01, and 10.  We never see 11.

  • Is there a definition available for the reset cause bits?  The data sheet I have says “reserved”.
  • Are the bits they're seeing accurate?
  • Are there any other registers or anything else that could help us understand why the CC2510 is resetting?

Thank you,
Ryan B.

  • Which specific register are you talking about, in the datasheet on page 76 you will find the reset cause vector and description.

SLEEP (0xBE) - Sleep Mode Control

4:3 RST[1:0] XX R Status bit indicating the cause of the last reset. If there are multiple resets, the
register will only contain the last event.
    00 Power-on reset or Brown-out reset
    01 External reset
    10 Watchdog timer reset
