How to update TI-RTOS version on existing CC1310 application.

So I saw TI-RTOS had an update available to me today, so I downloaded it via App Center in CCS and installed afterwards. Now it says TI-RTOS for CC13xx and CC26xx is up to date, but I cannot find a new version of TI-RTOS in either Project Properties->General->RTSC->Products and repositories or under C:\TI.

Where is it hidden?

When I finally find it, is it only a matter of changing the TI-RTOS version in the drop-down list under "Products and repositories" as mentioned above?

is the new TI-RTOS version available in Windows -> Preferences -> RTSC -> Products (see the screenshot)?

Switching the TI-RTOS version in a project was always a hazzle because the TI-RTOS packages include version numbers in the directory names. It is expected to work as you describe, but in CCS below 6.1.3 you have to update the include path and the library search path for CC13xxWare in the project properties manually. The paths for TI-DRIVERs, the kernel and XDC runtime are changed automatically. According to this thread, it is supposed to work seamlessly in CCS 6.1.3, but I haven't verified, yet. If you use CCS 6.1.3, let me know if it works as expected.

Unfortunately, no. It does not even seem to have found its way to my hard drive. Shall I look for it somewhere else than C:\TI?

Can you go to the "Products" Subpanel as shown in the updated screenshot above and Click on "Search Now"? Does it find the new version?

It worked for me when I used the app center. Try to download it directly from www.ti.com/.../ti-rtos-mcu

I just answered here but the post seems to be gone. So this may end up as a double post...

Nothing new when I press Search Now button.

I could try to install manually the new TI-RTOS, but I'm hesitant because I like the integrated features of the App Center and are afraid to mess up things when I go in and to work manually. I just saw my CCS version was 6.1.2. No new version showed when I tried Help->Check for updates. Now I downloaded install file for CCS from you webpage, but it doesn't notice I already have CCS installed and warns that I'm about to overwrite an old install path....

yes. This can be frustrating. I like the Apps center for at least trying to provide a convenient package manager, something that you find in most Linux distributions. But since I need to manage multiple versions of TI-RTOS, I always install TI-RTOS manually. This is not a problem. CCS creates only a weak link to TI-RTOS installations on your hard drive. In fact, you can install it anywhere and point CCS to it. So you can't mess up with existing TI-RTOS installations.

Upgrading CCS is another issue. I also don't understand why it doesn't upgrade itself. However, you can run multiple installations of CCS side-by-side if you install CCS to somewhere else than the default folder which is C:\ti\ccsv6 on Windows.

I don't want several versions of CCS installed at the same time... I started a new thread on the CCS version problem

Fwiw I'm using 6.1.3.00033 and I had to manually update the include & library paths for the CC13xxWare stuff.

I was able to install the new TI-RTOS using CCS App Center and it brought the new version into C:\ti -

d----- 6/27/2016 10:37 AM tirtos_cc13xx_cc26xx_2_20_00_06

After updating include and driverlib library path, my project builds correctly. Haven't tested it on the board yet.

Henrik Sandaker Palm, thanks for asking in the CCS forum. I've tested it with CCS 6.1.2 and downloaded TI-RTOS 2.20 via the Apps center. It works. You seem to use a newer Windows version than me. Maybe that causes the error?

Eric Brundick, thanks for trying it out. I'll file a bug report since it is inconvenient to update the CC13xxWare paths.

I've just updated TI-RTOS to 2.20 via the AppCenter but can't find it. Like Henrik showed before, in the 'Installation History' I can see it but it is not in my C:\ti folder and it does not show in the Windows -> Preferences -> RTSC -> Products. My CCS is Version: 6.1.3.00033. Clicking 'Search now...' does nothing.

Any hints for what I should do?
