CC430F5137: Question about ADC12 calibration data in TLV of CC430F5137

Part Number: CC430F5137

we have use lots of CC430F5137, but we encounter a problem during temparature measure, we use 1.5V refrence and the ADC raw data is about 0x0860,

we use the ADC12 Calibration data in  TLV table to convert , the ADC raw data is about 0x0860 when in 30 degree, but the  converted temparaure is not

corrected obviously , we check  the data in its TLV, it  seem strange,  following is the dump of  two chip's TLV

1#
----------------------------------------------
06 06 74 05 51 37 12 12 08 0a 0c 72 8b 46 0b 00
1c 00 f8 fe 11 10 05 80 01 00 17 04 00 0a 17 04
80 07 17 04 00 06 12 06 b5 7b ca 7b c6 7b 02 55

2#
-----------------------------------------------
06 06 14 e4 51 37 12 12 08 0a 0c 72 8b 46 1a 00
31 00 f8 fe 11 10 05 80 01 00 32 04 33 0a 32 04
a6 07 32 04 1f 06 12 06 ac 7b b4 7b be 7b 02 55

for the # 1,
ADC 1.5V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C
ADC 2.0V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C
ADC 2.5V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C

all above data is 0x0417, it don't seem  reasonable,

for the # 2,
ADC 1.5V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C
ADC 2.0V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C
ADC 2.5V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C

all above data is 0x0432, it also don't seem reasonable

and we have ADC 1.5V Reference Temp. Sensor 30°C, the ADC
convert data is about 0x0860

what's wrong with this chip? we double if this chip has has benn calibarate before released

we check other CC430F5137 chips in hand, also find this issue in calibarte data

any help will be appricated

  • Hello,

It does seem strange that the TLV data for 30C at 1.5V, 2.0V, and 2.5V are all the same for these two devices, but I'm not sure this is a concern. However, I do see that the TLV data for 85C is different across the reference voltages. This would make the slope different between the two points, which makes sense.

Did you perform the REF calibration and ADC offset and gain calibration as described in Sections 1.13.5.1 and 1.13.5.2 in the User's Guide before measuring the ADC data? This is important and will scale your raw ADC data according to the selected REF voltage.
