CC3100BOOST: Reg intial connectivity

Part Number: CC3100BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGIA, CC3100

Hello,

I have attached cc3100boost to MSP432

I had done the step 2 given on www.ti.com/cc3100start

After that I tried to change it from access point to base station .( not sure if that happened ) after that I burnt the sample code from energia software onto the MSP432 board.

After that checked the serial monitor but it showed nothing.

Now I again tried to connect to cc3100 WiFi. But this time I am unable to find the its WiFi connectivity. I tried holding switch 1 then press n release switch 3 and then released switch 1. Still no wifi shown by cc3100. I am not able to find the wifi created by cc3100 now.

What shall I do now?

Kindly help.

  • Hi Abhishek,

    What example are you using?

If you are using an Energia example. please post in their forum for support: forum.43oh.com/.../

    Best regards,
    Sarah
  • It was in example - simplewifi
Problem is I am not able to find the cc3100 WiFi network after I uploaded the code on the msp432.
On cc3100 I had pressed switch 1 held and leave 3rd switch then switch 1 left. I could see WiFi network of cc3100.
Now I cannot find by the same way.
Can you please tell a way on how I can find wifi network of Cc3100 again?
  • Hi Abhishek,

I am still not sure what software example you are running. SimpleWifi is not in our SDK, and the CC3100 does not have any default behavior. You can try one of our sample examples in the CC3100 SDK with your MSP432 drivers.

Otherwise, you can try reflashing the MSP432 Launchpad and be sure you have flashed the most recent service pack to the CC3100 Boosterpack.

    Best regards,
    Sarah
  • Hello Sarah.

I had done the following steps.

    1. Connected MSP432 TO CC3100BOOST

    2.  Then I held SW1 then held and released SW3 and then released SW1. Wifi network of CC3100 appeared on laptop.

    3.  Connected to wifi of CC3100. Opened  Http192.168

    4. Tried to change CC3100 from access point to station. ( not sure if it became a station or not)

    5.  I then uploaded a sample code given on energia software (Files -> Examples -> wifi -> simplewebserverWifi)

    6. But I could not find the appropriate results. The serial port shows nothing.

    7. Now again when try to do step 2, I cannot find CC3100 wifi network.

What can be done? There was an led that was glowing on CC3100 before uploading code in step 5. After uploading the code the led isn't glowing.

How can I again configure the CC3100 wifi to another station? (I am not sure it happened in the first time).

I took help from 2 videos

    1. https: //youtu.be/4GWXlZu_SQE ( for step 2)

    2. https: //youtu.be/S9qXaItbOU0 ( for step 5)

    Kindly help on this.

  • Hi Abhishek,

What do you mean by appropriate results? Was the flashing successful?

The CC3100 does not have any default behavior. It does not have an application processor, and needs a host to run code to make anything happen. It sounds like you were running some other code before flashing the Energia example. If your new example is not running, as it sounds like, please post in the Energia forum as linked above.

Additionally, you can test an example from our CC3100 SDK. If that also does not work, it means you may have a porting or a hardware issue.

    Best regards,
    Sarah
