Hello I am looking to design a device with the cc3200 to obtain and do simple audio processing. I was hoping to use the cc3200 sensor tag (CC3200STK-WIFIMK) to test out my code. I understand there is no support for changing the firmware on the sensor tag. Is it possible to flash the sensor tag? If not why not and what would need to be changed on a new design to allow flashing. Thanks Will

Hey Will,

The SensorTag is for demo purposes only and it software on in cannot be flashed.

For your application, have you seen the CC3200 Audio Boosterpack?

Thanks for the reply. It is fine too test the code. However I am looking to design a pcb. It was my understanding just a uart is needed to flash. Since the sensor tag has that it seems that something else is required. Can you tell me what else is required?

Hi Will,

Just my personal opinion how I understand situation about CC3200STK-WIFIMK. Let me Vince correct if I am wrong.

WiFi SensorTag was intended as development platform as all other SensorTags. But during RF testing (certification?) in TI found issue with RF design. Because in TI don't want to discard all manufactured WiFi SensorTags, they decided release this SensorTag only as demo. Maybe this is reason why this SensorTag had more than one year delay after official presentation.
