Future Wilink8 family that support 802.11p is it pin to pin compatible with current wilink8 WL1837MOD family?

Can I check, if TI is going to support 802.11p in the future generation of WL8 family? If yes, will it be pin to pin compatible with the current WL1837MOD family? that means customer can start their design based on WL1837MOD now, and later on migrate to future generation which can support 802.11p with minor change. Will this work?
