Linux: Regarding Range

Hi,

I am working on wl18xx with imx6 sololite processor.My use case to scan the FF types beacon and store them in sd card and i found the range issues with this.My unit is not able to scan the beacon out of the range and i m using patch anteena with the unit.Can you please tell me how can i increase the range?

Hi Samiksha,

Here are a couple of things to try:
1) Have you looked at your antenna matching to see if it is correct? you placed a patch antenna, but you need to ensure you have match the antenna.
2) for the antenna you are using, is the radiated pattern symmetric? If you re-orient the antenna, do you get better performance?
3) are you in a noise environment? the beacons are lower power so noise or other channesl may block this.
4) have you tried a different antenna with a higher gain to see if it improves?
