WL1837MOD: Using two separate antennas

Part Number: WL1837MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837

Hi,

The WL1837 has two RF antenna ports RF1 and RF2.

The datasheet says the following:

RF_ANT1             5G main ANT TX/RX, 2.4G WLAN main antenna SISO, Bluetooth

RF_ANT2             5G ANT diversity TX/RX , 2.4G Secondary antenna MRC/MIMO only

We would like to be able to use independent antennae for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Since the WL1837 supports antenna diversity, can we use separate antenna for 2.4GHz and 5GHz by connecting the 2.4GHz antenna to RF1 and the 5GHz antenna to RF2 or visa versa?

Regards,

DeeJay
