Linux/WL1831MOD: ble peripheral mode on Android 7/bluedroid stack issues

Part Number: WL1831MOD

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

If TI possible to provide HCI command in HCITester to enable be peripheral role???

Austin

  • Austin,

The WL183x devices support the BLE peripheral role. There are no special vendor specific HCI commands to connect to a WL18xx as a peripheral. Does your BT stack have LE peripheral capabilities?

    Best regards,
    Vihang
  • Hi Vihang:

    Thank you for  response.

    we are using blueZ.

Did you have idea how to config wl18xx be peripheral role by hcitool command??

and should we change any this in default bts file??

    Austin

  • Austin,

The WL8 Bluetooth controller has the LE peripheral capabilities. Placing the WL8 in connectable advertisement mode and connecting to it from a central is just like any other BLE device, since this procedure is defined by the Bluetooth Specification.
This has nothing to do with hcitool commands or the bts file.

Please check on BlueZ public forums regarding how to do this in BlueZ.

    Best regards,
    Vihang
