Use the SmartRF Studio with USB DONGLE cc2531

I would like to use cc2531 to test the RX emission with the usb dongle cc2531 because I need a small size tester.

I would like to use SmartRF Studio and a SmartRF board as a receiver.

 

The sniffer program works well and recognize the usb dongle.

The SmartRF Studio don't discover the cc2531 dongle.

Flash programmer don't recognize the dongle. 

(We have also connect the dongle to the SmartRF 05 1.8.1 via the debug socket without succes.)

Before changing the firmware of the usb dongle with Flash Programmer, I would like to know if I can download the firmware already installed that enables the packet sniffing funcionality.

    Hi Pierre,

     

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Connect the cc2531 usb dongle to an USB port
    2. Connect the cc2531 usb dongle to smartRF05EB with small debug connector (be sure you connect
      it right, otherwise the dongle won't be recognized).  
    3. Ensure that no other module connected to smartRF05EB
    4. Connect the smartRF05EB with USB to your PC and turn ON the board (at this point you'll see
      "cc2531" string on LCD of the smartRF05EB, if not, repeat steps 1 to 4 again). 
    5. Open smartRF flash programmer (or smart RF studio), is the device recognized by the SW now?

    Regarding packet sniffer firmware for cc2531 USB dongle, you can find it in your packet sniffer

    installation folder\bin\general\firmware.

    Once you get the dongle recognized by the smartRF programmer, you can download this FW.
