Hello everyone,

I am working with Z-Stack Home 1.2.1. I have three CC2530 modules configured as routers. I have two

coordinators, i.e., two CC2531 dongle connected to BBB running Z-Stack Linux Gateway 1.0.1.

Lets say we have 3 routers x, y, z and two coordinators, A and B.
I have x and y joined in A's network, all up and running since a few hours.
Now I want another PAN with B. So I start up B and try to join z to its network.
My problem is z always gets joined to A. Even if I remove it from A and dont fire permit join command, it still gets added again to A.
I have attached sniffer log to show this.

My question is:
1) I want to z to B's network.
2) Why is z getting added to A again if I dont send permit join from A (also rejoin is false when I remove from A)?
3) In such situations when a device is not in any network and is still searching, if it finds two or more

coordinatiors how it will decide which coordinator to join?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

In this my new device 'z' is sending association request starting from packet no 379. After that it has sent association requests and beacons mutiple times, and has joined a coordinator 'A' and is exhanging simple descriptors (around packet no. 694).

Now it has joined the coordinator 'A' which I don't want so I have sent remove device command in packet 974.
Again it has joined the coordinator 'A' and exchanges simple descriptors. packet no 1214.
Why did the router join coordinator 'A' again after being removed and why not 'B'?

I tried removing the router from 'A' in packet no.1223.
But it again joins coordinator 'A' in packet no 1346.

I want the router to join coordinator 'B', but it always joins on coordinator 'A'.

can you understand now?

The problem is on your ZR (0xf01e) which is enable permit join. You can see it in packet number 1055.

But I haven't made any modifications to enable router make permit join.
How can I correct this problem?

Why do you put zcl_EZModeAction( EZMODE_ACTION_NETWORK_STARTED, NULL ) in ZDO_STATE_CHANGE?

If you work ZR with Z-Stack Linux Home GW, I see no use to enable EZ mode.

we have disabled EZ-MODE from compile time options.

now the routers are not joining the network .

i have also attached the sniffer log ,you can see there that devices are unable to join network.

The device sends beacon requests and tries to associated to ZC. It's short address is 0x89a0 but there is no response of transport key message from this device. So, you see it leaves the network and join. But there is always no response of transport key message so it keep trying.

Try to use a fresh new SampleLight example and disable HOLD_AUTO_START and ZCL_EZMODE to test again. I just test it on my Z-Stack Linux Home GW and CC2530DK without problem.

I have tested with fresh sample light application ,now the device is able to join the network but I have to reset the device(HW RESET) then only the device joins the network.

Hello

I think I need to clear up everything we did till now

As you suggested, we disabled HOLD_AUTO_START and ZCL_EZMODE in ZR code and tested with SampleLight original code.

Because we have not yet established how joining procedure works we are starting everything again.

Now there is only 1 coordinator and 1 router in the network. Here is what I observed:

1) Router joins Coordinator only after permit join as expected.

2) After we remove the router from network, it doesn't join again. this is also correct

3) If I send Permit join from coordinator, I have to reset the router so that it joins the network. This is what I don't understand

3. When you send remove to device, you have to set rejoin flag to 1 to make it can do rejoin after leave.

packet no.-35 , permit join command is sent from linux gatway.

packet no.-89 , remove device command is sent from linux gatway.

packet no.-101 , again permit join command is sent from linux gatway. but now the device is not joining the network.

How do you send remove device from linux GW? We usually use ZDP_MgmtLeaveReq to request a device to leave but your packet number 89 is an APS remove device which is not an usual case.

We are using CC2531 USB dongle with ZNP code, connected to BeagleBone Black.
I am running Z-Stack Linux Gateway 1.0.1 on BeagleBone Black.
when I run ./start_application, I use keys to send command from gateway.
I press 'r' for remove device.
After that how the packet is parsed through ZNP, that I don't know

Not sure how Z-Stack Linux Home GW do this remove thing. You have to trace the source code to know it.

That's alright.
I found references to this remove device API in my own older thread.

I think while testing we had diverted from the original problem. Will test again with multiple routers and post new thread for problems
