CC2531EMK: How to transmit two frequency signal wireless using CC2531 USB Dongle

Part Number: CC2531EMK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2531

Good afternoon everyone

I am a beginner in this zigbee wireless transmission area. I have an application question I don't know how to solve, hope someone can help me, thank you very much.

I designed a chip that output 2 frequency signals they are all at a range of 10k to 50kHz. We want to use the CC2531 to transmit these two frequency signal wireless. I notice that the CC2531 USB dongle has 8 pins (user interface IO connector) that can be customized. If I connect my two signals to two of those IO connector, would it be OK? I think I also need software code to do such application, if so where can I find some open source code? I don't understand coding very much. Finally we want to display the two frequency signal, maybe on a computer screen. I don't know how to do this, do I need to download specific software for display?

I appreciate any suggestion and advise, have a great day.

  • Hi,

CC2531  is meant for ZigBee and RF4CE applications. It support only Digital Data (Packet) transmission and Reception. It doesn't support Analog information.

If you want to use this chip for Analog signal transmission then first you need to convert Analog signal into Digital ( by using A/D Converter) info and send the data  through the transmitter and receive the data at the other end and convert back the Digital and into Analog signal (by using D/A Converter).

    Thanks,
