CC2530: Which variable tells the voltage value?

Hi. Which variable out of the two images below (1st is in hal_adc.c & 2nd is in ZMain.c) will tell me the voltage that the CC2530 is reading? I've put each one of them in the watch 1 view, but I don't get any results. I would really appreciate any help.

Those registers will be clear right away after reading so you have to use another variables to load those ADC registers to keep the variables.

Ok. I will do that. But how many variables do I need to create?

And which variables from the images do I save into my created variables?

You might have to keep as many variables that you want to read those registers.

1) Is there a single variable from this function that will tell me the voltage?

2) If there isn't a single variable that will tell me the voltage, then how exactly can use all these variables to tell me the voltage?

Basically I am trying to use this voltage so I can compare it in another function.

You can try to revise HalAdcCheckVdd like the followings to return VDD reading and use it.

{
ADCCON3 = 0x0F;
while (!(ADCCON1 & 0x80));
return (uint8)(ADCH);
}

When I put ADCH in the watch 1 view, all I get is a value of '\0' (0x00). I am not getting an actual value for the voltage. I put HalAdcGetVdd() in the event loop, but I don't have anything showing up. How can I get the voltage value?

I have told you ADCH will be clear after reading. You don’t get reading if you put it in watch1.

You said this code would return VDD reading? Isn't this reading stored in ADCH? If not, how do I get the VDD reading to show in watch 1?

Put vdd_reading in watch1 to read it.

I think you can use AF_DataRequest to send the reading to coordinator.

If I use AF_DataRequest to send information about the cluster ID, 0x0001 (Power Config), does it send information about the voltage that I read ever 10 seconds? Does it send any other information regarding the power of the CC2530 to the coordinator?

You can use power configuration cluster to report battery message but it is not automatically. You have to implement it in your application.

1. I've been looking at this site: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/user-guide/JN-UG-3115.pdf and I see that I need to include the PowerConfiguration.h file, but where do I get this header file from?

2. I don't see a zcl_options.h file to include CLD_POWER_CONFIGURATION. So how do I enable this cluster?

As I remember, Z-Stack doesn’t implement API for power configuration so you might need to implement it by yourself.

There’s no need to create the header file. You can add related define in zcl_general.h. You have to define power configuration cluster ID and use zcl_SendReportCmd according to ZCL spec.

1. I believe my power config reporting is working and it is the Ubiqua log below. I have the CC253 report every 5 seconds. Can you check to see if the report seems right? If not, what is wrong?

2. It seems that the coordinator does not know what this attribute is. So how can I make the coordinator know that this is the power configuration cluster? Is there something I add to the compiler options to let the coordinator know that this CC2530 devices contains the power configuration cluster?

I believe you use wrong attribute ID and data type. You should check ZCL spec to fill correct data.

What is your definition of ATTRID_POWER_CFG_BATTERY_PERCENTAGE_REMAINING and ZCL_CLUSTER_ID_GEN_POWER_CFG? Do you follow definition in ZCL spec?

2. Is the issue because I have rptcmd.attrList[0].attrData = (uint8*)&zclSampleLight_OnOff? The "zclSampleLight_OnOff" attribute is for on/off only. What do I replace this value with for the power configuration?

1. I don't understand why when I use ATTRID_POWER_CFG_BATTERY_PERCENTAGE_REMAINING as the attrID, Ubiqua still shows as "Attribute ID: [0x0021] Reserved." How can I resolve this?

2. I see information about the attrID and dataType, but I don't see information about what attrData should be. Can you tell me what value I should use for attrData please?

Using BatteryVoltage as example, your battery voltage reading is the attribute data you should use and it’s uint8 format.

So everything seems to working and I resolved the "unknown cluster" issue by changing ZCL_FRAME_CLIENT_SERVER_DIR to ZCL_FRAME_SERVER_CLIENT_DIR. I noticed though that when the CC2530 joins the network and does a "Basic: Read Attributes Response," the "Status: [0x86]" is unknown.

What is [0x86] and why is it unknown? How do I fix this?

I see you try to read application version of basic cluster in your sniffer log and I suppose you have to implement application version attribute in basic cluster to make it work.
