CC2538: Coordinator not starting the Network

Hey All,

For a while i am having this strange issue about Coordinator using cc2538. The problem is that if i upload the code to the board (Coordinator FW) The coordinator will not start the network (devState = DEV_INIT always) and after pushing reset button several times continuously it will start the network. I dont understand what could be the reason and there are no packets on Ubiqua protocol analyzer.

I have modified it but it works some times for example if after some struggle if the coordinator is started it will start after that normally for 1- 15 times.

There must be something wrong with your code. I suggest you to use original GenericApp to add your custom codes one by one to verify which one causes the problem.

I dont think i have changed any thing regarding Network. And besides after several tries if it is started as coodinator then afterwards it will start normaly if restarted. It only occurs if the code is flashed first time or after(Router FW).

I have debugged the devStates in event loop and the state would change from DEV_HOLD to DEV_INIT but after that nothing.

Remove ZDAppCheckForHoldKey won’t cause problem like this. Do you modify anything else?

no i did not change anything else in source code. I have custom Board for cc2538 but i dont think this will cause any problem.

Mansoor,

Does the issue occur with GenericApp not modified in any way? There could be an issue with your CC2538 custom board (crystal, power supply, etc.) so I also recommend that you cross-check with a SMARTRF06EBK.
