LF411: BAL pins unconnected

Hi all,

I need to use the LF411 amplifier for a project (i.e. replacing it is not possible). I could not find much information about the balance pins (i.e. pins 1 and 5).

If it is not necessary to trim the input offset voltage, is it possible to leave the balance pin unconnected ?

If the balance pins are left unconnected, what input offset voltage should be expected ?

Welcome to e2e :)

Leave them unconnected and do not connect anything to the pads. These pins can inject noise into the input stage, so keep "noisy" devices or signals away from pins 1 and 5 so they do not couple in.

You may want to have a look into the original datasheet from National Semiconductor:

You will see the input offset voltage as specified in the datasheet.
