Dear Ti team,

I have a question regarding your TLC2274 datasheets and ordering number management:

1- Can you confirm that Ti has decided to split the M-MIL datasheets for a few years now ?

Before : slos190g: which includes all PNs and packages: SOIC, TSSOP, PDIP, CDIP, etc.

After : slos190h: which includes only plastic packages + slos985: which only includes M-MIL ceramic packages: CDIP, LCCC, etc. 

2- Why do we have a 5962-9318201MCA reference ? What are the differences compared to the TLC2274MJB: manufacturing plant, others ?

    I looked up our database and back in 3/2016, TLC2274/TLC2274M/TKC2274AM were specified together. I believe the split is likely happened in 6/2017, which is shown as the current and the latest M-ML datasheet.

    5962-9318201MCA is military grade or space-grade electronic components. 5962 prefix is commonly used in military and aerospace part numbering system to indicate high-reliability, radiation harden, or space-grade component. Thee components are manufactured to meet stringent standards, such as MIL-PRF-38535 or MIL-STD-883 testing and certification.

    9318201 indicates the specific variant, package type or IC revision. Anyway, these are the US military/government product code, which it can decode into series of product information including identifying manufacturer, package type, radiation harden, temperature range, hermetic seal and high reliability information etc. (all in one part number). There could be more letters in the part number, except this one meets a limited specification of the Mil-standard specification.

    First of all, it is the same Si-di design. M refers to military grade, J refers to ceramic dual in-line package and B refers to specific revision. 

    TLC2274MJB is already well controlled Si-die and manufacturing process and practice. They are likely made in USA, and it has the traceability in every steps and documentation in its travelers. But it may no have all the certifications and meet 5962-9318201MCA. 5962-9318201MCA has more paper trails, tests and certification. 5962-9318201MCA part is more controlled and/or regulated than TLC2274MJB part number. You can tell by checking the pricing sometimes.
