INA826: Thermal Issues

Part Number: INA826

Hello,

I am currently using an INA826 to measure the voltage of a Pt100 Sensor, which is working properly except for the INA 826 overheating after some minutes (>15min). I replaced the destroyed INA an checked again with a thermal camera but its still overheating or at least getting warmer and warmer (>50°C).

My inputs values are listed below:
Supply: +-15 V
Input voltage: ~10 mV
Common-mode voltage: ~2.5 V
Gain resistance: ~100 Ohm (-> Gain: ~500)
INA package: DRG (3x3mm)

I checked the layout for shortcuts and moreover checked the voltage values while using the INA. There were no notivable problems. Does anyone have an idea what could cause the overheating?

I just read in another post, that the thermal pad should be connceted to the negative voltage supply. Mine is currently connected to ground, could that be the reason for overheating?

Kind regards,

Nicolas M.
