DS90UB921-Q1: AVMUTE details

Part Number: DS90UB921-Q1

Hello,

I would like to know more about AVMUTE than that in the datasheet. Would you please answer the bleow 3 questions?

Q1: When the Des is in AVMUTE, are HS/VS/DE and PCLK outputs availbale at output pins while all R/G/B outputs are Low? Or are all the outputs low including PCLK?

Q2: Will Des recover the normal operation by toggling PDB of Des?

Q3: Is there any scheme to know if Des is in AVMUTE?

One of my customers encountered black screen. They are suspecting AVMUTE, but cannot determine. They want to know more details of AVMUTE to distinguish it.

Thank you.

Regards,

  • Oguri-san,

Q1: When the Des is in AVMUTE, are HS/VS/DE and PCLK outputs availbale at output pins while all R/G/B outputs are Low? Or are all the outputs low including PCLK?

HS/VS/DE are active but all pixels are low

Q2: Will Des recover the normal operation by toggling PDB of Des?

Yes but only if the SER is no longer sending RGB = 0x666666 in the blanking interval

Q3: Is there any scheme to know if Des is in AVMUTE?

There is no direct way to tell it is in AVMUTE. The only way to confirm is to send RGB = 0x555555 in the blanking interval to tell the DES to exit AVMUTE and confirm the black screen goes away.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
