TPD8S300A: About SBU and CC pin connection

In our project, TPD8S300A is used for port protection. I am using TPS25730 as USB PD controller so SBU pins not required

Can SBU pins left float?

For the other variant of the project there will be no PD controller (TPS25730 do not placed), so I pulled down CCx pins with 5.1k resistor for this variant.

Should I place 5.1k after the protection circuit (TPD8S300A)?

    If you are using the TPD8S300A RPD "dead battery" pins, it will expose the RD 5.1k pulldown when unpowered, but will remove the resistors once the CC FETs are enabled. If you are using the RPD pins, you should place 5.1k resistors after the protection circuit.

    If you are not using the RPD pins, you should place the 5.1k resistor before the protection circuit.

    Essentially, 5.1k pulldowns need to be exposed on the CC lines on connection. It can be done either through the TPS82300 RPD pins or through the placement of the 5.1k resistors.
