DS320PR810: ADS simulation using DS320PR810 IBIS model

Hello, 

I am having trouble with a PCIe simulation using ADS.

I cannot configure the redriver IBIS model block to have an open eye diagram on my receiver.

The simulation without rediver gives better eye diagram results than with the redriver.

Is it possible to have a contact of someone to share our simulation bench and discuss the results with and without redriver ?

    The difficulties could be caused by different reasons. You can post your simulation project here on the forum, or any of the details such as TX/RX models are confidential, let me know and we can discuss in private messages.

    For now, I have some questions to check the background of your simulation setup:

    • You are saying that you are not able to achieve an open eye diagram at the receiver. Does changing the redriver IBIS-AMI model settings lead to noticeable differences, better or worse eye diagrams?
    • Have you reviewed the DS320PR810 IBIS-AMI model user guide ("DS320PR810_IBIS_AMI_Users_Guide_R03.pdf") for details on how to configure the model parameters?
    • The ZIP file containing the DS320PR810 IBIS-AMI model also contains an example testbench of the DS320PR810 in ADS, that is shown in section 4.1 of the model user guide.
      • Have you tried the example project before? You can also use the schematic as a reference of what the appropriate port configurations should be.

    Yes, some of the models I use are confidential. It would be great if we could move to a private discussion so that I can share my bench.

    Meantime, below the answers:

    - Yes, changing the redriver IBIS-AMI model settings lead to noticeable differences, that improves eye diagrams.

    - No, I dont have this user guide.

    - Yes, I have used this bench as an example to implement my own.

    This guide, as well as other relevant materials, are distributed in the same "PCIE5-REDRIVERS-DESIGN" secure folder that you downloaded the IBIS-AMI model from.
