DP8392 based 10Base-2 design issues

Hello,

I need to provide a 10Base-2 ethernet connection in one of our devices, which normally only has 10/100Base-TX port. We have addon connectors, which provide SPI, I2C, etc. as well as USB interfaces and designed an addon port based on AX88772C USB ethernet controller and added an optical transceiver to provide an optical interface to a customer. My idea no was to keep the AX88772C design, set it to 10MBits and more or less simply add the DP8392 instead of the optical transceiver. But the AX88772C does only provide TX+/- and RX+/- diff. pairs and no collision detecd CD+/- input.

What would the best way to implement that USB->10Base-2 story? If the AX88772C is not suitable, can you recommend some device? An existing (embedded) Linux driver would be great.

Thank you and best regards,

ER!K
