TIC12400-Q1: would TIC10024-Q1 or TIC12400-Q1 support applications with 24V battery?

Part Number: TIC12400-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIC10024-Q1

E2E,

I'm using a 24V battery, and even if TIC datasheet mentions a 35V recommended power supply (40V max. abs), it is noted that this voltages were tested at load dump for a 12V nominal battery, so, would TIC10024-Q1 or TIC12400-Q1 support applications with 24V battery?

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

The TIC10024-Q1 or TIC12400-Q1 are designed for 12-V system and cannot be used in a 24V automotive system due the various transient votlages that can occur during start up, battery jumping, etc. when connected directly to the battery.

Please see below solution of a discrete circuit with our new TMUX1308-Q1 (5-V, Bidirectional 8:1, 1-Channel and 4:1, 2-Channel Multiplexers with Injection Current Control)

    Thanks

    Saminah
