ISO7762-Q1: Failure mode distribution categories

In the failure mode distribution table (SLLA513 table 3-1) the first entry is 'OUT state undetermined'. Can you please clarify what type of failures are in this category?
My interpretation is that this covers failures where the output does not match the input, but the output is not stuck. Is this correct?

    The datasheet defines VOH and VOL specifications, any voltages outside of these specifications are referred as undetermined for this device.

    My interpretation is that this covers failures where the output does not match the input, but the output is not stuck. Is this correct?

    Your understanding is mostly correct. This represents a situation where output doesn't meet device devices specifications and is neither HIGH nor LOW. It cannot be referred as stuck HIGH or LOW as stuck voltages can still be within device VOH and VOL specifications.

    Sorry, the explanation I provided earlier is for the second row entry where the output is not in datasheet specifications. For the first row entry, your understanding is correct that the output is in a random state that may or may not match the input.
