ISO7740: Supply Current Clarification

Part Number: ISO7740

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Could you please make sure supply current specified in the datasheet is per channel or total?

I found E2E thread with different conclusions, so I'm confused. Please find the link below.

I'm trying to calculate the worst case current.

Do I need to multiply the number of channel, or not?

Best regards,

Kazuki Itoh

  • I doubt that the first linked answer is correct; please note that the datasheet specifies the test condition for AC signals as "all channels switching", and that the EN pins affect all channels.

  • Hi Itoh-san,

I'm trying to calculate the worst case current.

For worst case current, please look at the maximum current consumption values that are on the supply characteristics table. Those values are the worst case ICC1/ICC2 current consumption values considering the test conditions mentioned.

Could you please make sure supply current specified in the datasheet is per channel or total?

The ICC1 and ICC2 value is the total current consumption per side of the device. ICC1 is current consumption of VCC1 side and ICC2 is current consumption for VCC2 side of the device.
