AM2434: EtherCAT and HTTP integration

Dear Team,

we are using AM2434 Launch Pad as reference for our project development.

We will be using 2 Ethernet port -- both MII and requirement is to integrate EtherCAT and HTTP protocols, that should be simultaneously accessible. Http server should be accessible through any of both ports.

E2E forum and TI resources suggests to implement EoE to have EtherCAT and HTTP server integrated, Is it mandatory to implement EoE for Http server support? Please suggest if any other workaround is possible.

Please suggest which TCP/IP server code (SDK) to be used to integrate EtherCAT and TC P/IP server with above mentioned requirement. Also let us know sysconfig settingsfor this.

    Please note that EtherCAT network is not compatible with standard ethernet, so it is not possible to have both of them accessible simultaneously.

    Yes that is correct, the only way possible is by using a special switch such as : Beckhoff Information System - English

    EL6601

    The EL6601 terminal can be integrated into an EtherCAT network. The EL6601 terminal branches off an Ethernet connection from the EtherCAT network. A network printer, a remote desktop or a subordinate controller can be connected to this Ethernet connection, for example.

    And you also need EoE enabled on the slave side

    As suggested above it is not possible without EOE, and Standard TCP /IP example cannot be integrated directly.

    In a scenario where EtherCAT and HTTP tasks are running on AM2434 and EtherCAT network is not present. Can we access the http server without implementing EoE?

    If at all, EoE is mandatory in above scenario, if possible, please share EoE implementation code and settings..

    Currently, we have integrated Ethercat code with Http server, but the board is not coming up. we have selected ICSS1 for Ethercat and ICSS-EMAC (switch mode) for HTTP, will this configuration work?

    I am not sure what do you mean by it, when ethercat network is not present?
