AM2634-Q1: Ethercat

Part Number: AM2634-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

We would like to use AM2634-Q1 Processor for one of the Safety application with Ethercat Communication as a slave configuration. We are evaluating the same with LP-AM263x Eval Kit.

We have two queries on the same.

1. How many bytes does the TI Eval kit with SDK supports in Ethercat in a single cycle. We require to send around 150 Bytes each cycle with the periodicity of 100ms or less than that. Is it feasible with Eval kit and SDK provided with the same.

2. The second point was regarding free-rtos and No rtos. We saw in SDK the ethercat example is provided only with Free-rtos. Is that not possible with No-Rtos. If yes, any refence or example code available for the same?

  • Hi Arjun,

    1. How many bytes does the TI Eval kit with SDK supports in Ethercat in a single cycle. We require to send around 150 Bytes each cycle with the periodicity of 100ms or less than that. Is it feasible with Eval kit and SDK provided with the same.

Currently it is configured to 32 Bytes. But it should be possible to do 150Bytes also, For the cycle time you will need to run this experiment. The lowest cycle time we support is 31.25us.

    2. The second point was regarding free-rtos and No rtos. We saw in SDK the ethercat example is provided only with Free-rtos. Is that not possible with No-Rtos. If yes, any refence or example code available for the same?

We currently support only FreeRTOS based example only. We do not have plans for NO-RTOS based ethercat examples, it would need to be done on your end.
