TMS320F28379D: TMS320F28379D Launchpad with BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE, , BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV, C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK, C2000WARE

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have just started playing with this combination, for running a permanent magnet motor, however there is almost no getting started or examples to get this running from what I have seen?

I need to identify parameters like resistance and inductance of my motor and then run the motor with sensorless FOC, a little bit as is the case with motorware and 28069M. Are there any examples or ideas of how to get started with these devices? Is it even possible?

We need a bit more software headroom and higher switching frequency than what was possible with the older motorware kits.

  • Hi,

Newer C2000 motor control software solutions can be found in the C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK. For TMS320F28379D Launchpad with BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV you can look at the dual axis motor solution below:

We do not support a similar InstaSPIN solution for the higher performance F2837x device. We have the universal_motorcontrol_lab which supports what you're asking for but with the lower / mid-performance C2000 devices.
