TMS320F28035: Turn stepping motor at high speed with DRV 8412-C2-KIT

Hi all,

I'd like to know how to turn stepping motor at high speed with DRV8412-C2-KIT.

My customer motor's target speed is 1500RPM.

So I set SpeedRef to "1" but motor speed was slow.

Are there advice or manual to turn the motor higher speed.

I'm using the stepping motor included in DRV8412-C2-KIT.

Please check the IRef, pid1_i.OutMax, pid1_i.OutMin, pid2_i.OutMax and pid2_i.OutMin, make sure that the current is enough to enable stepper run with high speed if the BUILDLEVEL is LEVEL3. You may only increase IRef in the default example project.

Hi Yanming-san,

I tried to change the IRef, pid1_i.OutMax, pid1_i.OutMin, pid2_i.OutMax and pid2_i.OutMin,

but the speed did not change.

Is it possible to rotate 1500 RPM using the default stepping motor and example program of the DRV8412-C2-KIT?

Hello Roman-san,

My customers could not rotate at high speed using the sample program,

so they are considering making the program from scratch.

1. Check the "BASE_FREQ" in Stepper-Settings.h, its value should be higher than the high speed.
2. Increase the "IRef " per the motor and its loading if the BUILD LEVEL is LEVEL3.
