How Many Data/values per second are transferred to GUI from the EVM430-fr6043?

Part Number: EVM430-FR6043

Hi, I want to know how much data/values are  transferred to the GUI from the EVM in one second? The data includes DTOF, ATOF,VFR. Can This data transfer increased/decreased in the code?

Also, I have one more question. I'm designing an ultrasonic Spirometer and I realized that when I force exhale and inhale in the pipe , the peak Volume Flow Rate comes to only  around maximum 1 Liters/Second.

However , When I force inhale/exhale in a diagnostic spirometer the peak VFR comes 7-8 Liters/Second. Why the VFR is low in the pipe design?

Does the Gas speed depends on the pipe diameter? I have used the same pipe design as shown with the EVM.

The UPS0 to UPS1 gap will determine how often to the flow rate is sampled (see image 1 below). The number of samples collected is determined by the capture duration and the sampling rate (see image 2 below).

This will depend on the calibration of the system. Have you performed a calibration process?

  • Hi Evan,

Thanks for the reply. Ok, so in my setup UPS0 TO UPS1 Gap (ms) is 200

Signal Sampling Frequency is 1000kHz , Capture Duration(us) is 250.

So If I Understand correctly  Flow rate value is sampled every 200ms , and capture duration is 250us so I get 4000 VFR Values in a second??

I'm still not clear with the difference between UPS0 TO UPS1 Gap (ms) & capture duration.

Secondly, I have a 3Liter  Calibration Syringe, but it is for the volume of air passed, not for the speed of air.

How can I calibrate the VFR?

No, you will get 5 VFR measurements per second (1/200ms). A VFR measurement consists of a UPS and DNS measurements. UPS0 to UPS1 gap determines the spacing between UPS measurements and thus VFP measurements. The capture duration determines the window size of a capture. In other words, how long you are capturing for. To save power, the design is not continuously sampling. The timing diagram in the GUI gives a good picture of the sampling timeline:

You will need an accurate VFR reference to calibrate your USS design. I'm not sure if that will be easy with a syringe.

    Evan
