Hi, 

We are using TPS65218D0 to power AM437x. Are there any other PMIC alternatives that can be used to power the AM437x series?

Also, is it possible to program any TPS65218xx to TPS65218D0 with the use of BOOSTXL-TPS65218? If yes, can you please provide details on how to do this?

    TPS65216 can also power the AM437x processor.

    is it possible to program any TPS65218xx to TPS65218D0 with the use of BOOSTXL-TPS65218? If yes, can you please provide details on how to do this? 

    Yes, TPS65218 is a user programmable PMIC. If you plan to re-program the EEPROM settings, I would recommend ordering the TPS6521815 which is the variant that comes with the "blank" EEPROM for customers to re-program it and match specific power requirements. Below are the links to access technical documentation with the programming instructions. Just for your reference, after making changes to the registers, three consecutive I2C commands (0x50, 0x1A, 0xCE) must be written to the password register to save those changes on the actual EEPROM memory so they become the new power-up default (this information in also included in the links before but I also wanted to highlight). 

    Feel free to submit a new E2E if you face any issues during the programming process.

    Thank you for your response. Both PMICs are out of stock and lead-times are extremely long nowadays. Would you recommend any other solutions?

    TPS65218D0 and TPS65216 are the approved PMIC solution to power the AM437x processor. I would recommend getting the demand entered in the system so an ESD can be assigned. 

    We also have hardware configurable PMICs in our industrial portfolio that could be configured to support specific power requirements. Feel free to take a look at the TPS650250 and TPS65023B datasheets to see if those meet your application requirement. These PMICs have 3 Bucks, 3 LDOs with independent enable signals. Most of the output voltage combinations can be configured using external passive components.
