hi teams:
What is the current consumption of 4mA for shutdown in battery mode?
The GATE on this charging tube (HDRV) also has battery voltage when it is turned off,
Please help confirm if this is normal,

Hello Kevin,
What is the current consumption of 4mA for shutdown in battery mode?
Can you explain more on what you mean: What is the current consumption of 4mA for shutdown in battery mode?
I assume that you are referring to 4mA current consumption from the IC
Please refer to section 8.3.6 Battery Over-Voltage Protection (BATOVP):
The GATE on this charging tube (HDRV) also has battery voltage when it is turned off,
Can you explain more on how you have the charger set up when this occurs?
What do you mean when you say turned off, What is turned off?
What is the adapter input voltage/current?
Best Regards,
Christian.
Christian:
1. When we say shutdown, it refers to our machine processing S5 status; The 4mA we measured is the position of the battery input fuse, which is equivalent to the entire charging circuit consuming 4mA of power
2. The adapter is not connected, the input voltage is 0 V, in pure Battery mode
Hello Kevin,
The GATE on this charging tube (HDRV) also has battery voltage when it is turned off,
Yes, I tested on an EVM and this is normal.
What is the current consumption of 4mA for shutdown in battery mode?
I have to do more research, and I will give you more information tomorrow.
Can you provide you register values.
Best Regards,
Christian
Hello Kevin,
I have a few more questions:
Can you provide me with the register values when the 4mA consumption is occurring?
Can you provide me with the battery voltage?
Why did you choose a 4.7uH inductor, we recommend using a 2.2 or 3.3uH inductor.
Best Regards,
Christian
hi:
Can you provide me with the battery voltage?
reply: The battery voltage is around 14.7V when it is around 10%,
2.Why did you choose a 4.7uH inductor, we recommend using a 2.2 or 3.3uH inductor.
reply:We will modify the BOM later and choose 2.2/3.3uH
Hello Kevin,
Can you provide me with the register values when the 4mA consumption is occurring?
Best Regards,
Christian
