Hello,

Currently we are working on a FMEDA and looking into functional safety documentation regarding this gate driver we face a failure mode distribution (FMD) which states:

"OUT level is outside of specified value"

We would appreciate some clearence about this failure mode. We understand it as if we have some input level, output will be different out of the expected one.

However, ¿if PWM input is low level, does output remain low level, independently if this failure has happened?

This is referring to when OUT is a value that is not intended including outside of abs max specifications.

Could you clarify this question? If input is held low and the output is held low, this would not be a failure case.

Sure. About my second question, I am refering about if the "OUT level is outside of specified value" is for any input value, or shall be a minimum input value.

For example, when input is low level, does this leads to OUT outside of specified value?

Hi Alvaro,

For this failure mode, it is for any input value.

In your example, if input is low then OUT would not be low for this failure mode.
