LM5026: LM5026 active pwm controller - HIGH SIDE ACTIVE CLAMP SWITCH - control a N-Channel clamp switch

hey everyone,

i have a question for the LM5026 active pwm controller.

i want to use it as a high side active clamp converter. Therefor i can use a N-channel Mosfet. My question is... on the internet i have read that therefore a gate drive transformer is required.

can i also use an capacitor for the ac-coupling..?

Hello Michael,

The N channel active clamp has the source of the N channel FET referenced to the drain of the main FET.

Therefore a transformer is required to turn on the active clamp N channel

You will not be able to use a coupling transformer.
