Hi,

I am trying to use this board to implement acontis EtherCAT function.

I try to implement EC-Master (not based on TCP/IP) with CPSW mode and RAS-Server (based on TCP/IP) with ICSS mode.

I try to connect pin1 and pin2 for J18, and connect pin2 and pin3 for J19 as the picture below.

But acontis told me that TMDSICE3359 cannot support CPSW+ICSS mode, it can only support 2*CPSW or 2*ICSS. In another word, I can only connect pin1 and pin2 or pin2 and pin3 for J18,J19 at the same time.

My question is:

1. Whether J18 and J19 can be set separately? e.g. connect pin1 and pin2 for J18, and connect pin2 and pin3 for J19.

2. If question 1 not possible, what is the reason?

3. If question 1 not possible, this shortage is for TMDSICE3359 board or for AM3359 chip?

HW can do one port CPSW and other ICSS. You will need to configure pinmux accordingly for both ports.

Do you mean the 1st question is yes?

My aim is to connect pin1 and pin2 for J18, pin2 and pin3 for J19, and both ports can be pinged OK.

Is there a sample project that can be sent to me?

I'm not familiar with TI's pinmux tool and I am told that TMDSICE3359 cannot support CPSW+ICSS at the same time. So if I cannot ping these 2 ports at the same time, I don't know whether the problem occurs on the error configuration for pinmux, or the shortage of TMDSICE3359 board or AM3359 chip.

Yes. J18 and J19 helps to select the boot strap settings for PHY to power up in MII or RMII mode.

Yes. One caveat is that CPSW might need to use ICSS MDIO for PHY interaction, so you need to keep that in mind as it is not supported by default.
