TMDS64GPEVM: Maximum number of software breakpoints allowed in Code Composer Studio.

Hello all,

I am working on TMDS64GPEVM – AM64x General Purpose Evaluation Module . I have installed the MCU + SDK 8 on my machine. I am using the CCS to compile and debug the code. If my understanding is right, the board has an inbuilt jtag emulator and also supports and external XDS110 jtag emulator. I would like to know how many software and hardware breakpoints can be set while working in Code Composer Studio while using the debug methods mentioned above. Also please correct me if im wrong, i understand that in order to debug using the inbuilt jtag emulator, we can just use a USB mini Cable.

There is no theoretical limit to the number of software breakpoints available.

As for hardware breakpoints, it can vary depending on the CPU being debugged. The device experts can provide the exact number for each CPU. I'll bring this thread to their attention

I was told AM64x has the following number of hardware breakpoints.

A53 - 6
R5 - 8
M3 - 8
M4F - 8
