Hi,

We are looking support for BSP development towards AM62x Sitara Processors TSN development.

Can I get info about 802.1 CB standard support and do we need to load AXE-1-16M GPU core (rogue architecture) firmware for every boot in AM625 SoC.

Note:

In case, 802.1 CB not supported by AM625 Ethernet ports what will be the best way to have it in our design with any other chip we can include in our design to proceed.

No, IEEE82.1CB, also called FRER in the main Ethernet specifications is not supported in AM625SIP Ethernet IP called CPSW3G. You can see the the supported TSN features in https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux-rt/esd/AM62X/latest/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/Kernel/Kernel_Drivers/Network/CPSW-TSN.html?highlight=tsn . And the CPSW chapter in the TRM https://www.ti.com/document-viewer/lit/html/SPRUIV7B#GUID-AE417066-7C40-482C-8850-F7400B9D97A8/TITLE-SPRUIU2_TOC4455327 . We don't currently offer parts with FRER support, but there is a plan to add support using the ICSSG subsystem in 2025 on devices like https://www.ti.com/product/AM6442 and https://www.ti.com/product/AM2434 .

No you don't have to use the GPU. If you want ot use the GPU you need to initialize it including loading the firmware.

If we connect one RGMII port of external 802.1CB supported switch (LAN9668) to this AM625 (CPSW) RGMII port and other QGMII port is to be connected to the endpoint. it will work?

Yes you can connect an external switch using RGMII without PHYs, as long as the timing of RGMII timings are met on the HW design.

I can't comment on LAN9668 features and support for 802.1CB/FRER, you should talk to Microchip about that device, especially SW support and drivers for this feature. To my knowledge Linux does not currently have FRER support.
