TRF370417: Baseband VCM and Maximum Input Level

Genius 13859 points
Part Number: TRF370417

Hi Experts,

We have this query from client about VCM tolerance for TRF370417.

The datasheet for the TRF370417 gives the IQ base band input common mode voltage as 1.7V. What is the tolerance on this?

Also the TRF370x Evaluation Module manual (slwu062.pdf) calls out a common mode voltage for this part of 0.85V or 1.7/2. Which is correct, 0.85 or 1.7?

And finally there is no absolute maximum input level for the I and Q inputs given in the datasheet. What is the absolute max input level for the differential IQ inputs?

Thanks ahead for your guidance.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hi Team,

    Any update on this?

Hoping to hear thoughts from an expert.

  • Hi

The customer may refer to plots below for reference on VCM level. The VCM level is in direct relationship to the linearity performance of the device, reflected in OIP3.

There is no specific maximum input level. The customer may refer to P1dB level and the gain to back calculate the maximum input power level to saturate the device at P1dB

Also the TRF370x Evaluation Module manual (slwu062.pdf) calls out a common mode voltage for this part of 0.85V or 1.7/2. Which is correct, 0.85 or 1.7?

Regarding the statement, the ESG, or most of the signal generators, will assume 50ohm load with internal 50ohm source termination. For DC bias, it is important to set half of the bias voltage so the output equivalent in high Z mode will be the actual full bias voltage.
