MMWCAS-DSP-EVM: Velocity scaling issue in bin file data processing

Tool/software:

We use the MMWCAS-DSP-EVM with the MMWCAS-RF-EVM (AWR1243 cascaded 4-chip radar module).

Using MATLAB software, we plot range-Doppler maps by processing the captured data stored in bin files (outputs from the MMWAVE Studio software).

In the range-Doppler map, the velocity is not displayed correctly, meaning the velocity scale does not match our data.

How can we set the velocity scale correctly? Can you share any codes or references if available?

Refer to the MATLAB examples present in C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\MatlabExamples.

Recheck the velocity resolution computation.

The velocity resolution computation is correct. I have another problem.

In the range-Doppler map, when the object moves in the positive direction along the range axis, it is correctly reflected in the plot as moving in the positive direction.

However, when the object moves beyond the maximum distance shown on the positive side of the range axis, it suddenly appears at the far end of the negative side of the range axis and moves towards the positive side.

Why does this happen?

Range is always positive. Do you mean that velocity is negative?
