Hello,

I have been working with the IWR1843BOOST and have come across an unknown issue. While mmWave studio's "Data Capture Demo" has worked fine for a while, the plot recently seems to be out of sync or corrupt.

Additionally before that, the plot always had a significant return at 5 meters, regardless of the environment.

You are right, the old data looks correct and the new data looks wrong. Is it the same board and device?

Hello,

Yes, it is the same device for both captures. I forgot to mention that I am also using the DCA1000EVM (for both captures).

HI, Samuel:

Please flash the out-of-box binary and run the visualizer to see whether everything looks all right. If that is correct, then it could be some issue with DCA1000 board. Please send a picture of your hardware setup to me to help review.

Hello,

I flashed the demo bin and ran the demo visualizer and the output seems normal.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the radar/data collect board, but I would like to troubleshoot the DCA1000EVM next.

Re-flashing the firmware on the DCA1000EVM and setting up the configuration switches resolved the issue. Here are the steps:

If there is any firmware installed like Beamsteering (lab11) must format the SFLASH using UniFlash before start using mmWave studio. Beamsteering Image
Start the mmWave studio and flow the steps https://training.ti.com/dca1000-training-video and the pdf (mmwave_sensor_raw_data_capture_using_dca1000_v02.pdf)
Before start recording make sure DCA1000 allowed through windows firewall
If the DCA stopped working for any reason and you cant get it back to work, re-flash the DCA1000 using Diamond programmer and flow the steps in the manual (DCA1000 re-flash.pdf)
Make sure to disconnect the DCA from the IWR1843 and use the 5V power supply direct to the DCA, also , connect cable in J4 FPGA.
