Hi Team

I need a MIPI DPHY switch/Mux to connect one MIPI Link (clk, data0-3) to 3 mipi dsi displays. Please suggest a switch which can connect 3 mipi devices with one processor

I have referred TI mipi switch TMUX646 but this is only 1:2 switch I need a 1:3 switch please suggest. My MIPI interface per lane speed is 1.5Gbps. I have attached here the drawing of my system setup

Also please help me understand what is the difference between a MUX and a SWITCH

and the Difference between a digital MUX and an Analog MUX

So I'll tackle these definitions first

So a mux is typically something that will route signal to from some X inputs to a single output (for example a 4:1 mux like the TMUX8109). A switch is typically something that will allow you to turn on or off a single I/O path. Take for example a SPST 1:1 switch like the TMUX8212.

A digital mux will drive a signal and will be unidirectional (See some examples here) while an analog mux (like the ones in this portfolio) are passive devices that will allow for the signal to continue to be passed through the device and are bidirectional.

Now for the TMUX646, we won't have something quite the same as a 3:1 device but I can offer a solution.
You could cascade 1 TMUX646 into another to create a 3:1 mux. The TMUX646 will see some degradation here in the bandwidth but seeing as it's a 6GHz device and you're working with 1.5GHz, we should have some bandwidth to spare here to use this method.
I've looked back through previous posts and it looks like we have a very similar solution with the TMP645, which is predecessor to the TMUX646, with a lower bandwidth as well.T Take a look here, it may also help illustrate what i'm trying to describe:

An engineer on the team has also run some s-parameter analysis on a cascading mux here, to give you an idea of what the BW decay may look like (looks like from this it would be about 1/2 the bandwidth or twice the insertion loss).
