CCSTUDIO-SITARA: CCS 11.1, how to create a new project from scratch that has sysconfig

Part Number: CCSTUDIO-SITARA

Hi,

I'm attempting to create a new CCS project from scratch and I want it to have a sysconfig configuration. I was surprised to find there's no option to do that, at least not that I've found. The only way I've been able to get a sysconfig project is to import an existing project that has already has sysconfig in it. For example, I was able to import one from the MCU+ SDK for AM24xx.

BTW, as an experiment, I created a sysconfig project on the cloud at dev.ti.com and saved off the .syscfg file. I then tried adding that .syscfg file to a basic CCS project I created and ran into issues. Probably could have resolved them with some effort but decided that's not really the approach I want to pursue.

I guess importing a project that's close to what I want as a starting point is okay but many times, I just like to create a new project from scratch.

I have two questions

1) Am I missing something or importing an existing project is the only feasible way?

2) I haven't downloaded CCS12 yet, does it allow me to do this? I want to check first before doing the big download/install.

Thanks

  • Hi Brad,

Yes this is indeed true. I believe there is a Jira to add this functionality though I can't seem to find it at the moment. I'll see if I can dig it up.

    This is the recommended way

    1) Am I missing something or importing an existing project is the only feasible way?

This is the only feasable way

    2) I haven't downloaded CCS12 yet, does it allow me to do this? I want to check first before doing the big download/install.

This is not addressed in CCS 12.

    Thanks
