my customer wants to create a project for the CC2640R2F LaunchPad that allows scanning, connecting, and sending data via BLE. It should be controlled via serial connection to the LaunchPad. Serial connection, scanning and establishing a connection is already working.

Can you recommend an example project demonstrating how to send data?

Hi Framziskus,

What kind of data do they want to send? If they just want to send small pieces of data, I recommend Project Zero: dev.ti.com/.../

If they want to send a large amount of data, they can look at the Throughput demo: github.com/.../simplelink_sdk-1.35

I have asked Mr Hillreiner to post my question.

I'd like to send a message like "Hello" or a hexadecimal value like "3030" from one CC2640R2 to another. The one board should be the sender, the other the receiver.
I'd like to open two different terminals with Putty. I want to scan and connect, like in the throughput demo.
In the sender terminal I want to type my message which should send to the receiver. In the receiver terminal I want to see the message which I've send before.

Hi Marie,

in the Spec Document of SPP it is said that the boards send and receive data over the serial port or did I understand that incorrectly?

I think I need to change the throughput demo to send data only if I type a message, because now the throughput demo send continuous messages from one board to another.

Hi Denise,

You're right, the SPP sends data over the serial port. YOu can see it in e.g. a putty terminal window.
