Has anybody tried running TPS65950 in ACTIVE state with VBAT supply input equal to or less than 3.2 Volts?
When I reduce TPS65950 VBAT input below 3.2 Volts, its 1.8V output rail voltage settles around 240 mV, when I bring bring VBAT input up around 3.6 Volts, 1.8V VIO rail output restores to nominal value of 1.8V.
This behavior seems to be consistant with TI documentation, TPS65950 TRM, Page 236, Para 5.4.1.2, Wait ON to Active state transition. The block diagram indicates that, companion device would remain in WAIT ON state as long as VBAT is less than 3.2 V. All DC / DC converters, internal LDOs, and Power References are OFF during WAIT ON state. (TPS65950 TRM, Page 233, Para 5.3.3, Resource Operating Modes).
My observation does not match with TI Data Manual documentation, where it says Minimum Required VBAT is 2.7 V.

Device will stay ACTIVE below 3.2V. It will transition to WaitON only when VBAT is less than 2.7V in the absence of the backup battery.
Some thing on your platform doesn't seem correct. I am waiting for schematics.
