TAS 3308 LCEVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS3308

Anyone know where I can get a library of components for the  TAS3308?  Im looking for low pass and high pass filters. The SW that came with board does not have these.  I cant seem to get to the latest studio SW either.

  • Doug,

High Pass and Low Pass filters are already available in the software under the 'Filters' Tab. You can either use and FIR or IIR (known as Biquad in the software). The Biquad Componet has a GUI which can be used to easily generate filter coefficients for both High Pass and Low Pass Filters.

Please see the following link regarding how to get the latest copy of PurePath Studio https://community.ti.com/forums/t/3018.aspx

  • Drew,

Thank you.  I of course found your GUI in the studio SW after I wrote a massive VBA/excel to calc the filters!  The good news is that the coefficients I gen are the same as yours.  Drew are you the right support engineer to ask questions about the '3308?  Its a very nice part!  Im planning to eventually marry it  to a power stage.  Can the EVM be set to store a program and run it at power up without the PC connected?

The EVM CD contains an the schematics to the TAS3308EVM-LC, there you will find the hardware connection for the Master and Slave I2C Serial Communication pins.  The boot process is outlined in the TAS3308 Data Manual, available to those registered to the Extranet. It should have also shipped with the EVM as well. Page 17 of the Data Manual describes the Power On Reset Boot Sequence as executed by the TAS3308 ROM. This will outline the capabilties of the EVM on Power up.

  • Drew,  OK next problem. When I try to use the DRC I can load a preset when I got to save I get an error that it cannot acess C:\Ipropvalue.txt This files does not exist anywhere on my system.  As a result I cannot use any of the DRC's. Any thoughts? Im using the lastest bulid from TI site (1.82)

    Doug,

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my EVM. As a quick sanity check, please let me know what version of the DRC component you have. Also specify if it is the DRC, DRCref, or DRCref1Ch component. You will find the component version and revision in the property's tab once you select the component. I will need both to make sure you have the latest componet.

  • Drew, I found it to be a permissions issue in Vista.  I had to turn account mangement off for the drive that the SW is installed on for it to work.  Mickeysoft strikes again....  BTW I sent an email to tech support and never got a reply.  Thanks for helping and monitoring this forum

PurePath Studio DLLs were written for Windows XP. See the release notes for the software for further details for what is required to run PurePath Studio from a computer hardware point of view.

    Doug,

Thanks for posting to the community as well. We actually received your request internally through Tech Support on March 30th at 11:01 AM, however since it was posted on the community I thought it would be better to post the reply here in the hopes that everyone experiencing the same types of issue will be able to see any traffic related to this thread.
