PCM1704 specifications

I'm really hoping somebody can help me. I need to know the input impedance/capacitance for the inputs of the PCM1704U, particularly BCLK, WCLK and DATA. An IBIS model for this chip would also be extremely helpful.

I have checked the datasheet as well as every other resource related to this chip and have come up short. I also emailed TI and unfortunately received less-than-helpful responses with zero information.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Kurt,

I would not anticipate running into any issues in your design as a result of the impedance/capacitance on the I2S (BCLK. WCLK, DIN) inputs. The data and clock signals on those lines are not pushing any speed barriers where parasitics, etc are going to play a major factor.

If you have any schematic and/or layout concerns, I recommend using the PCM1704's EVM as a reference design. The user guide for it is available here:

Hi Nick,

consider paralleling four or maybe eight pcm1704 then info about BCLK input capacitance becomes important. When designing with this expensive DAC instead of the usual one bit types,every factor, also minor, must be taken into consideration. Is it possible that TI can provide this data, ?
