TSW1400 RBF file

Hi,

I have purchased TSW1400 , ADC and DAC boards.

http://www.ti.com/general/docs/litabsmultiplefilelist.tsp?literatureNumber=slaa545

I am trying to load the example code given in above app note through Data pro software for TSW1400 board , GUI is expecting RBF file but the downloaded folder don't has this file.

so i downloaded quartus II subscription edition from altera website and tried to generate programming file (*.rbf) but it is saying Programming file is not generated in evaluation mode.

If  anyone worked around this please let me know the solution, I am waiting for your reply.

Regards,

Krish

  • Hi Krish,

I have attached the .rbf file, this should allow you to test the compiled firmware on your setup. However, you will need a valid Quartus II subscription to modify the code for your own use and compile it.

  • Hi Matt Guibord

    Thanks for your prompt reply

I am unable to download the RBF file given by you through High speed data converter pro software to TSW1400 (stratix IV EP4SGX70HF35C3) device , i am getting one error as  "NO FIRMWARE. PLEASE SELECT A DEVICE TO LOAD FIRMWARE INTO THE BOARD".

  • Hi Krish,

To load the firmware, first extract the .zip file into your desired location. In HSDCPro, go to the "Instrument Options" menu and select "Download Firmware". Navigate to the location that you saved the .rbf file to and select it. HSDCPro will now download the firmware.

After the firmware is downloaded, you may get the "No Firmware" error. This is simply a check to see if the current FPGA firmware matches the selected device. In this case, this is a special firmware that will always fail the check. You can just ignore the error. HSDCPro will not be able to capture or source data to this firmware, so it can only be used to download the firmware. After downloading the firmware, you should be able to apply an analog signal to the ADC and capture a signal at the DAC output. You will need to configure the DAC in order to get a signal out.

  • Hi Matt Guibord ,

I have loaded the rbf file and i am trying to use the internal clock of DAC instead of external clock but i am not seeing any output at DAC.

we have to do any configurations for ADC or not required.

I tried different settings in DAC GUI but unable to breakthrough it.

can you provide configuration files for DAC & ADC to verify the above reference design it will be helpful to me.

    Regards,

    Krish.
