ADS1158 wrong ID code

Dear Sirs,

I started a project with the ADS1158 Analog & Digital Converter.

Surprisingly, when I start the device driver I check the ID code to ensure a correct connection, but instead founding 8B code, I found the 9B code.

Then I checked twice the marking to be sure that I'ts the wrong parts, but definitly the correct one.

So I checked all the other default register value, and that are reported correctly.

Some other found the same issue?

That register may change based on the revision of the part and such, so if you are counting on any particular value, that may be a dangerous thing to do. At this point, the ADS1158 device ID byte is currently 0x9B. However, this may change with die revisions, so it shouldn't be counted on to always be 0x9B.
